• Travel Like a Local

  • Buy a MYKI pass, good for nearly all trains, trams and buses and easy to top up.
  • Download the PTV app for up to date travel information.
  • Aussies drive on the other side of the road so look right before crossing the street!
  • The driving on the right thing will also mess up your sense of direction something fierce.

• Must Haves Each Day!

  • Good walking shoes, there will be much walking.
  • Day bag with sunscreen and small water bottle, it gets hot!
  • Also a snack, for when you're in the middle of a large park with no food in sight!

• Comunication and Paying!

  • I found it easiest to unlock my phone and buy a SIM card in Australia.
  • I did have to visit the phone store to get linked up with the local 4G network.
  • Both cash and credit are accepted most everywhere.
  • Easier to use cash for smaller purchases and a card for tickets and attractions
  • I would recomend using an ATM to get your cash not one of the many currency exchanges.
